What Is in Season This Week

October is apple harvest season in Pennsylvania, so this is peak time for apples, fresh-pressed apple cider, pumpkins, and winter squash at area markets. Expect ornamental mums, Indian corn, and late-season greens and root vegetables alongside the fall fruit. These are the seasonal items local farms typically bring to market in late October.

Season Notes for This Week

Several markets are in their final weeks of the 2026 season. The Bethlehem Rose Garden market held its final market on Saturday, October 10 and is now closed for the year. Bangor runs through Wednesday, October 28, Macungie closes for the year on Thursday, October 29, Nazareth holds its final Saturday market on October 31, and the Trexlertown regular season is expected to wrap up late this month before its November 7 winter market. The Allentown Fairgrounds, Easton, Emmaus, Saucon Valley, and Bethlehem Farrington Square markets continue into November or December.

The highlights this week are at Saucon Valley Farmers Market on Sunday, October 25: the monthly Art in the Park artisan showcase combined with the market's Halloween at the Market event, where shoppers in costume can trick-or-treat with the vendors. In Easton, the City of Easton's 2nd Annual Witches Walk fills Scott Park on Saturday evening, October 24 from 3-8 p.m. after the farmers market closes.
